Almost 743 staff of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) including some priests of the Lord Venkateswara shrine at Tirumala have tested positive for COVID-19. After that three have succumbed to the virus since June 11.
From the 743 infected, three employees have died because of the pandemic. Then 402 personnel have recovered so far. Now 338 people are undergoing treatment at different COVID care facilities. Executive from TTD have given this statement.
The famous Lord Venkateswara temple had re-opened on June 11. Public started going after two and half month. The Corona pandemic had of temple closed. TTD had reopened the hill shrine after the coronavirus lockdown for the public with an intention to fill its coffers.
The temple was opened after requests from devotees.The corona rules were followed for the entry of the people.The list given by the government was followed.
