Karnataka’s chief minister BS Yediyurappa has tested negative for covid-19. He was admitted in a private hospital .After that about nine days of treatment the result has come.Swab tests taken on Saturday were negative. A person aware of the development gave a statement.
Chief minister Yediyurappa is aged 77.He was admitted to Manipal Hospital. He was tested positive for the respiratory disease. This happened on August 2nd.He is likely to return home later today.
Karnataka is the third worst hit state now in India.It has reported 1,78,087 cases so far and over 80,000 are active.Several ministers have also been tested positive and are undergoing treatment.
However the death toll in the state has touched 3,198.This is according to the government data.
The present rains and landslides has added to the crisis. This has deepened economic and humanitarian distress.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with officials .The state government has sought a ₹4,000 crore special package from the Centre.
