Chennai corporation readies land records portal



In two months, the Chennai corporation will launch a portal with all records of land in the city. The process to enter land records and digitise them began on Monday. This completed in about 20 days. After the records digitised cross verification done and made open to officials. The website called Chennai land administration portal (GCC-CLAP).

Revenue and land estate department officials stated that no one in the corporation consolidated data on the land available with the civic body. “The extent of the land and the taluk name along with the survey number made available on the portal. Later on, we refine this data further as to whether the land is encroached or leased or rented…,” said an official.

Once the portal gets ready, anyone can enter the survey number, taluk name. ward number and easily access land records. Similarly the next 20 days, officials at the ward level asked to come to the Ripon building. Therefore this to enter the land records data available with them.
