CISCE likely to become an international board




The Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) may become an international board soon. The council CEO Gerry Arathoon revealed at the national conference of Association of Heads of Anglo Indian Schools (AHAIS) stated on Saturday. The council conducts ICSE and ISC examinations in schools affiliated to it. Talks on between the council and one of the most popular school education boards in Finland.

Arathoon addressing over 160 heads of Anglo Indian schools in the country during the centenary celebrations of the association. He talked about the proposal to transform it into an international board. About 35 city school heads participated in the online meet.

Many school heads felt that the move welcomed by schools where children of affluent parents studied. However it could prove difficult for others to afford unless the council subsidized it.

“The Finnish system looks at the happiness and wellness quotients above anything else. So it’s a welcome move but the financial issues also need straightening out,” said Richard Gasper, head of St Augustine School, Kolkata. He elected as the president of the Association.

The National Education Policy and how the Anglo Indian schools adjust to the new rules also discussed.
