Five Indian Women Wrestlers Qualify For Asian Olympic




Five Indian female wrestlers selected for Asian Olympic Qualifying Event and 2021 Senior Asian Wrestling Championship to be held in Kazakhstan from 9 to 18 April. The selection trial was conduct at STC, Lucknow in five Olympic weight categories for upcoming competition, on Monday.

Selected five women wrestlers :

Indian wrestlers Sonam Malik (62 kg), Seema (50 kg), Anshu Malik (57 kg), Pooja (76 kg) and Nisha (68 kg). They were select in a selection trial that was conduct in 5 Olympic weight categories in Lucknow on Monday.

Haryana’s Wrestler Sonam Malik notched up her 4th straight win over Rio Olympic Bronze medallist Sakshi Malik.

Wrestling Federation of India said. “The remaining 4 weight categories for Asian Championship, selection trial on March 27, 2021.

Earlier on 16 March 2021, Sandeep Singh Mann (74 kg), Satyawart Kadiyan (97 kg) and Sumit Malik (15 kg) won the trials. The Trial was conduct in IG Stadium to the Indian wrestling team for the upcoming Asian compilation.

According to a statement from Wrestling Federation of India. Greco Roman Style, Gyanender (60 kg), Gurpreet Singh (77 kg), Ashu (67 kg), Ravi (97 kg), Sunil Kumar (87 kg) and Naveen (130 kg) won the trial. They are qualify for the event in their respective categories.
