While there are several debates going across about whether reopening schools and colleges are safe Google comes out with an update. The company quoted earlier that most employees would be working from homes with a few of them back in the office. But now Google staffs have been given the option to work from home until at least June next year. In light to the COVID-19 pandemic, the work from home has been extended to 30 June, 2021. Google comes up with a formal work-from-home policy as the country debates how to best reopen.
In an email sent across to the employees, Google chief executive Sundar Pichai said, “To give employees the ability to plan ahead, we are extending our global voluntary work from home option through June 30, 2021 for roles that don’t need to be in the office.”
Most other firms are looking into this aspect and plan to extend the work from home for their employees as well.Time would be needed to come out from the impact of this pandemic.Getting back to normalcy can be risking and firms have made it clear to not start right away.
