Karnataka COVID-19: Cases cross 2-lakh mark, over 6,500 people test positive in a day

Karnataka has crossed the grim milestone of 2-lakh mark on Thursday.This is in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number has increased to 2,03,200. There were 78,337 active coronavirus cases in the country. The deadly virus has claimed 103 lives in the last 24 hours. The deaths in the southern state is 3,613. Most of these patients had a history of Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) or Influenza-like illness (ILI).

However the COVID-19 recovery rate has improved in the last few days. Over 8,500 COVID-19 patients cured. This is in the last 24 hours. After that more than 1.21 lakh patients recovered from the infection.

Bengaluru has the most number of coroanvirus patients.81,000 people tested positive.

The state has improved its testing facilities over the months.55,999 samples tested. This is in the last 24 hours. Karnataka tested 18,82,316 samples since the pandemic.

Former Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah has recovered from coronavirus infection. He was also discharged from the hospital. He has been tested negative.The Congress leader has thanked doctors and medical staff at the Manipal hospital for their treatment.
