Odisha govt to reduce school syllabus in view of COVID-19

The Odisha government is likely to announce a reduction in school syllabus. This is for students for the academic year 2020-2. This is due to the current COVID-19 pandemic. The State School and Mass Education Minister Sameer Ramjan Das had given this statement.

They are working on the issue of syllabus reduction. However no clear information on how much to be reduced decided. This will come out clearly in a couple of days.

All the schools in Odisha are now closed till August 31. This was an earlier decision. Odisha is now witnessing a peak in COVID-19 cases. The month of September predicted to be crucial. The cases are raising very fast around Odisha.

The percentage of reduction in the syllabus can only be decided after the dates to reopen schools. This minuster had stated this.

Only when the guidelines of the government given will the schools reopen. Then only the information about the syllabus reduction given.

Recently, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) revised the syllabus for the classes IX to XII. This is for the academic session 2020-21. With regard to the situation created by COVID-19.
