Tamil Nadu: Monday sets record as highest property registrations in a day in three years




Monday witnessed the highest number of property registrations on a single day in Tamil Nadu. This notable in the last three years.

According to official data with the registration department, a total number of 22,686 land documents registered on Monday. This generated revenue worth Rs. 138.5 crore.

Monday, considered an auspicious day, reportedly the reason for the huge number of property registrations.

The maximum number of highest single day property registrations recorded in the past five months between September 2020 and January 2021. This in the post-Covid period, since the STAR 2.0 (Simplified and Transparent Administration of Registration) was introduced. STAR 2.0 pushed the registration of properties completely to cyberspace from February, 2018.

So far, the registration department recorded revenue of Rs. 7,030.5 crore in the current financial year from April to December 2020. Similarly this through property registrations across Tamil Nadu.
