Uttar Pradesh minister Kamal Rani died of Covid-19 on Sunday

Kamal Rani Varun served as Minister of Technical Education in the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government. Born on May 3, 1958, Kamal Rani Varun was a member of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly. Being a member of Eleventh and Twelfth Lok Sabha, she was a efficient worker.

Rani pursued her masters in sociology at Kanpur University. She married Kishan Lal Varun on 25 May 1975. The couple has one daughter.

She had earlier tested positive for coronavirus COVID-19 on July 18.She died at a hospital in Lucknow on Sunday due to the viral infection. She was 62.

‘Kamal Rani Devi died at 9:30 AM at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences’ , was the government statement.The minister was on oxygen and ventilator support for the last few days.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered condolences to the family of Kamal Rani Varun.
The chief minister has cancelled his scheduled visit to Ayodhya.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in the UP stands at 89,068, up from Friday”s 85,261.
