On 7th March 2021, The Board Of Cricket in India announced the schedule for VIVO IPL 2021. The tournament starts on 9th April 2021 and ends on 30th May 2021. Unlike last year, all the matches are going to be played in India. There are a total of 6 venues- Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata. This is the 14th season of the Indian Premier League.

The first match will be played between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore in Chennai. The finals will take place in the newly built Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. An important highlight of this edition of the VIVO IPL is that no team will have a home advantage.

Keeping in mind the safety of the players from the on-going pandemic, each team will play only at 4 venues. This means that the team only has to travel three times during the league matches. A total of 56 leagues matches will be played between the teams. Like every year, the teams will play both afternoon matches, at 3:30 PM, and evening matches, at 7:30PM.

At the beginning of the tournament, no spectators will be allowed to witness the match. But this may change in the later stage of the tournament, as told by BCCI.
