Mrs. Srilanka – Pushpika De Silva gets her crown back




Following a twisted climax in Mrs. Srilankan Beauty pageant held on April 4, 2021, the original winner gets her crown back on April 5, 2021.

Mrs.Pushpika De Silva, contestant number 20 was announced as Mrs. Sri Lanka 2021. She was honoured by Shiranthi Rajapaksa, Mayor Rosy Senanayake, and Chandimal Jayasinghe.But, when Pushpika was about enjoy the moment, Mrs. world – Caroline Jurie steps forward and pointed out the pageant rule note that divorcees cannot be crowned as winners and announced the first runner up as winner.

“Real queens fix each other’s crowns” – says Pushpika

Inspite of the situation, Pushpika stays strong and explains her side of truth. She says she stays the same as per the pageant rules and hasnt violated the rule. She says she lives alone with her son. And says there is a difference to stay away and getting divorced. She claims to be married and not yet divorced. And demands explanations from the Contest organisers.

Further, Pushpika De Silva questions the contest organisers that if they were aware that she was not suitable for the contest, she should have been removed at the very beginning. And, the organizers could not have been asleep when she was progressing forward in the pageant event.

Now, the organisers finds Pushpika innocent of charges against her. They rectify their action by re-crowning Pushpika as Mrs. Srilanka for the year 2021.
