The All india council for technical education ( AICTE) announces : Physics, Chemistry and Maths not compulsory for admission into certain engineering degrees. Usually, there revolves a common tagline – You must be Good at maths to be good at engineering. But, that doesn’t holds true in most cases.

The regulating body ( AICTE), mentions the relaxation for few degrees that dont require maths and physics. Examples Like – Textile Engineering, Biotechnology, Agricultural Engineering. Apart from these almost all Engineering courses require Maths,Physics and chemistry.

Chairman’s note:

AICTE Chairman Anil Sahasrabudhe says this decision is not binding on state governments and engineering schools. This is entirely to reduce the pressure of students in studying, that are not subjected to their choice of degree.

This thrilled few students, yet others who love maths raises questions of confusions. But, not everyone welcomes this decision. This update spreads mixed emotions over the internet. Students who had faced struggles in Engineering maths and those are professionals by now, send their suggestions and queries via internet.

Actually, paves way for students from medicine, commerce and vocational backgrounds to take up Engineering. AICTE says – “Students who do not have mathematics, physics, engineering as their background will be offered “suitable bridge course” by their respective universities. This is achieve desired learning outcomes of the programme”.
