Yashwant Singha, ex-BJP leader, has been appointed as Vice President of Trinamool Congress Party

The former BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) leader and famous politician Yashwant Sinha, who has recently joined the Trinamool Congress ahead of the assembly elections, has been appointed the Vice President of Trinamool Congress(TMC).

He is 83-year-old senior BJP leader who had quit BJP in the year 2018. Days after joining the Trinamool Congress, former Union finance Minister Yashwant Sinha was appointed as party’s Vice President.

He made one move to ensure West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s win in the polls. After joining the party and turning active, Sinha had said , “I’d like to say that since  the country is going through an extraordinary situation, therefore at this age also I’d like to involve in party politics.”

The Assembly polls will be beginning on 27 March. Counting of all votes will be declared on 2nd May. The tenure of 16th Legislative Assembly of West Bengal. A total 7,34,07,832 voters would  choose their representative for 17th Legislative Assembly of West Bengal.

Here the institutions of democracy are stating the Strength of Democracy. All the institutions including judiciary have become weak now.

The estimation says that TMC’s win will herald the defeat of the Modi government in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. The senior politican pledged support to Mamta Banerjee in her fight against the BJP.

He has joined in Kolkata ahead of State Assembly polls. When he was addressing a press conference at the Bhawan  he said, “ This government (BJP) can do anything to win the election. The attack on Mamata Ji made me decide that I want to work with her.”

In the year 2020, before joining the party of Trinamool Congress, Yashwant Sinha had generated waves during the Bihar Assembly elections . He had also served as finance minister and external affairs minister under the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government.
